Common symptoms when wearing contact lenses

  • Blink
It is a natural reaction when you get a foreign object in your eye, in this case your contact lens. Also, this is the normal way to get tear fluid under the contact lens
  • Tears
This is the natural way to keep the eye clean. As soon as the eye accepts the contact lens, this stops.
  • Itching
Such a sensation, especially immediately after removal, is normal.
  • Moving
A well-fitting contact lens must be able to move in order to provide the eye with nutrients. With contact lenses, this movement will be very noticeable at first, especially when looking upwards. This becomes less and practically unnoticeable during the adjustment period.
  • Blurred image
This phenomenon occurs after removing the contact lenses.
  • Reflections
At night or in poor lighting conditions, light reflections can occur due to the changed refraction of light and the pupil size, which become less strong and can even disappear completely the more you get used to the contact lenses.
  • Redness of the eyes
A slight redness may occur due to irritation of the eye by the contact lens, which recedes after some time. Usually the whites of the eyes return to a practically normal color ten (10) minutes after inserting the contact lens.
  • Driving, watching television and reading
This is a greater strain on the eyes and there is less blinking, so it will cause more discomfort during the settling-in period.
  • Size and distance
Due to the different image formation, distances seem a bit different at first, so caution is needed.
